The RPS 6 puck Disc is 3 lbs. It would be interesting to know what a full face feramic disc weighs. The lighter the disc the easier on the trans and faster you can shift. Also because of the disc's friction surface being on the very outside where the inertia is the greatest. a small difference is weight of the disc material is HUGE when spinning at 7000+ RPM. The higher you spin the engine the more the weight matters. When you are talking about 3 pounds vs 4 pounds you are talking about a 25% reduction in weight, This is HUGE!!! With the type of syncros the Z trans has this weight is a huge consideration for anyone trying to do any type of racing that requires fast shifts.
RPS is actually working on making a even light Disc for drag racers and it will be called the ultralight. RPS is also working of a lighter pressure plate for road racers to inprove power coming off the corners.
